PROFILE

Debbie is a teacher and designer with a deep interest in permaculture-inspired self-reliance and resilience.  Motivated by vivid childhood memories of tasting food plucked fresh from the garden, she enjoys growing and preserving abundant organic produce with her husband Brodie in their own garden farm.  Living on a peaceful 5 acres at Postmans Ridge, Debbie feels consciously interconnected with nature and community.  With an insatiable curiosity and passion for learning, she enjoys reading, design, healthy cooking, nostalgic pastimes, and simplicity.

Debbie has a home-based educational practice, Optimise Learning, where she teaches, mentors and delivers workshops.

As a Specialist Teacher, Debbie focuses on nurturing and celebrating the unique and limitless potential of all learners (particularly children and adults who have Dyslexia and Literacy Difficulties), and supports parents, teachers and schools through educational assessments and advisory services.

Debbie also offers professional Learning Consultancy, Design and Mentoring to other facilitators as they develop and deliver innovative, engaging workshops and courses.

You might like to join her Nurtured Life series of Workshops and Masterclasses that empower individual and community self-reliance and resilience.  Planned for small groups, these will be practical, boutique learning experiences tailored to your interests and needs.

In 2019, Debbie became the inaugural president of the newly formed community not-for-profit association, Permaculture Toowoomba Inc.  See the Website and Facebook Group.
